No problems with Kat: Sonakshi

She made a noticeable debut with Dabangg in 2010. But for some time now, Sonakshi Sinha has been making headlines for alleged catfights with mentor Salman Khan’s former girlfriend, Katrina Kaif. It was, in fact, suggested that her Dabangg co-star asked her to lie low after she court end-to-end controversies.

Forget lying low, I kept quiet because I had nothing to say. It’s better to let such stories die down. Since all this talk came up randomly, it stopped as fast as it started. There’s no issue,” smiles Sonakshi.

Apparently, the problems between the ladies began after some reports insinuated that Sonakshi had replaced Katrina in a few ads and films, something that the latter did not find amusing. Soon after, Sonakshi’s mother, Poonam Sinha, made a statement saying, “It’s becoming very difficult for her to work in such a suffocating atmosphere”.

But Sonakshi laughs all this off. “Like any other mother, mine too reacted sharply. But I’m fine. Such talk doesn’t affect me. My work keeps me too busy and fortunately, does all the talking. So, I’d rather let my professional achievements make the noise,” says the actor. “Sometimes, people make up stories for their personal interests and you can’t do anything about that, so I have started laughing at them.”

Some time ago, Sonakshi had messaged Katrina offering to explain her side of the story, but the actor didn’t respond. “That was a long time ago and she was travelling at that time. Everything is fine,” insists Sonakshi, who celebrates her 24th birthday today and wants to steer clear of all drama on her special day. “Please allow me to celebrate my birthday peacefully. I don’t want any more controversies now.”

Accepting that life has undergone a major transformation since her last birthday, she says, “I remember having a quiet dinner with my friends last year. But today, hopefully, we will do something special,” says Sonakshi, who, like a good daughter, brought in her birthday with her family.
Besides her next release, Shirish Kunder’s Joker opposite Akhay Kumar, Sonakshi’s schedule is packed with the Sanjay Leela Bhansali-production Rowdy Rathore, Shirish’s next Kick, a Tamil film with Kamal Haasan and Race 2, apart from Dabangg 2 next year.

Sonakshi’s cat fights?
Katrina Kaif: Kat was apparently miffed with reports that said Sonakshi has replaced her in a few ads and films. Sonakshi sent her a text message to sort things out, but Kat didn’t respond. Reports also said that Sonakshi was on the verge of breaking down when Salman asked her to lie low for a while.

Zarine Khan: Apparently, Sonakshi attended an impromptu bash Salman Khan held after Ready’s music launch. Rumoured to be very possessive of Salman, Sonakshi pushed Zarine while walking past, and pretended to not even realise what she did. Sonakshi, of course, denied the incident ever took place.
