Get Ready for some wholesome entertainment

Filmmaker JP Dutta recently defended Dabangg winning the National Award for wholesome entertainment saying, “I think Dabangg is the perfect wholesome entertainer. It propagates family values. It shows the alcoholic father sacrificing his life when he feels he’s coming in the way of his daughter’s life. And it shows step-brothers uniting as one force to protect the family.” Using these remarks as the yardstick, there is no way that Ready can’t win the National Award for wholesome entertainment in 2011.

At the screening of Salman Khan’s new film, it was post interval and I was beginning to worry.

Katrina visits Income Tax office

It seems that four months after the raid on her house, Katrina Kaif’s tax woes have not ended yet. The pretty actor visited the Income Tax office in Ballard Pier, Mumbai today to speak to senior officials. Dressed in a reddish-pink T-shirt and blue jeans, the actress and her personal assistant arrived in style in her Audi Q7 and were in talks with the officers for almost an hour. You may recall that IT officials had raided Katrina’s house and office (and Priyanka Chopra’s home and office, too) in the wee hours of January 24 for suspected tax evasion. The raid came as a shock to the industrywallahs and her fans. But even after that, her fan base has not dipped. Almost all activity in the building stopped as everyone around tried to catch a glimpse of the beautiful lady. Katrina seemed poised and oblivious to the stares as she went about her meeting professionally and left the building. We are just glad she didn’t call the media and cause a ruckus over there. Good going, Kat!
